I booked a 5 day holiday with SoulMountain in early Summer 2013. I was looked after by my lovely hosts Piter and Suzy who welcomed me into their beautiful rustic home in the middle of the Spanish mountains.
I’d been suggested to try Dream Mountain by a friend who knows I like to visit places where I can get a feel of local culture and lifestyle, have a great adventure and basically stay where tourists aren’t normally found. I stayed in an incredible retreat in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu surrounded by the Spanish jungle, eating incredible Spanish food by a real Spanish chef, enjoying the arces of local countryside, and for me learning how to rock climb outdoors.
If you want to find some amazing places to climb Piter is the person you want to know. Just driving through the stunning forests of Northern Catalonia to the climbing walls was an experience within itself, it was countryside that I didn’t even know to expect from Spain. As a beginner at climbing, Piter took me to some challenging walls to start my lessons, guiding me to use the equipment and ropes properly and ultimately sending me up those walls to climb like I’d never climbed before. It was an amazing experience and the views from the top were just incredible.
On return to the house I’d receive a delicious Spanish feast cooked by Suzy. It was so delicious that all Spanish food since then has not matched up to the quality that I was cooked during my stay.
I loved my stay here and would recommend it to all climbers and anyone who is looking for something different in a holiday.
If you like the adventure, soaking up authentic local culture, unbelievable local food or simply just to relax and chill out from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities, this is what Dream Mountain provide.
